I first bought one of these toys for my own son 28 years ago, I recently found it in the loft and after cleaning it up gave it to his baby daughter to play with. She loved it, at 8 months old the little 'men' popping out made her laugh and she also enjoyed chewing on these when she was teething! However, we unfortunately lost one of the little 'men' in our holiday cottage, so I was amazed to find they were still available to buy. I ordered a new one for my now 11 month old Grand-daughter (and also one for a friend's baby as I knew she was unlikely to already have one). Both babies enjoy playing with these toys very much. My Grand-daughter has mastered the pop up action, is now trying to replace the 'men' in the holes and when she is older it will help to teach her colours. I think this is a very good value classic toy which will outlast many more modern toys.

Customer rating stars Quirky & Amusing Classic Wooden Pop Up Toy Sent on 04 September 2010
I love this item. My 9 month old baby chuckles heartily every time you hold the little mens heads down and let go. Then the little man springs right out of the box (not high enough to cause injury! - just a nice little spring out). This is innovative and very quirky. No batteries required but encourages the child to work to receive the fun element. I feel it is great for colours and co-ordination in children and although my son is a little young for it at the moment, he thoroughly enjoys watching me do it for him. There are far too many plastic toys these days that require batteries for this and batteries for that and there is so much going on, I feel the child gets confused. The 'A B C songs' never quite get finished as there is so many buttons to press. This toy with it's simplicity and ease has given myself and my son much more entertainment. I would highly recommend this toy.

Customer rating stars The best toy for a baby Sent on 29 August 2010
When my little one turned 7 months, I struggled to find a toy that had some "action-reaction" but still very simple. most of the pegs toys i saw had different shapes or were making awful noises. I could not have made a better choice.
First of all the quality is excellent: the pegs have been bitten and banged a thousand times and the paint is still as new. The box is sturdy and does not have any part that could come out and is small enough to fit in a bag. I really enjoy the fact that this game can be used at many levels. At first my baby enjoyed watching me making the pegs jump, later he took an interest in the pegs, looking at them, banging them together, making them roll, dropping etc. He also loved the box itself (especially the screw hole at the back). Aged 9 months he started putting the pegs in the holes. I know that later on, he will enjoy sorting them as well.
I have decided to make this toy my gift to all the babies I know. It really is keeping mine entertained for hours and I could not recommend it more.

After me, my friends, relatives ect spending a fortune on my sons 1st xmas! We found this one simple toy to entertain and educate, still does now, at the age of 3 its his favorite toy. When a peg pops he used to kill himself laughing at 3 months, nothing has changed at 3 years he still finds it funny!!!!

I bought this for my daughters first Christmas when she was 8 months old. At first she was just happy pulling the little people out of the holes and putting them in her mouth. Later on she became obsessed with taking them out of the holes and putting them back in. She also loves making them 'ping' up out of their holes, whilst saying 'weeeeee' :-)

I was really suprised by how many hours of enjoyment my daughter gets out of this simple toy!
